MiniOctaves was set up in Northern Ireland in 2008 due to the need to provide children with a more innovative, creative and more forward thinking way of learning to play musical instruments and learning about music in general, both inside and out of their own school environment. MiniOctaves is the only non-profit organization in Ireland that specializes in group music tuition.
The aim of MiniOctaves is to transform the way music is perceived by children. With over twenty years of professional experience in the music industry, the MiniOctaves team has developed unique teaching methods adapted specifically to each age group, such as the “buddy system”, with the main purpose of teaching children the importance and benefits of music education. MiniOctaves therefore believes that instrumental tuition and music education are the most valuable gifts that a child can be given and should be introduced at the earliest age possible and developed alongside and at the same pace as the child’s school curriculum. MiniOctaves also believes that not only does music enhance social development, it also offers huge enjoyment and a sense of achievement.
MiniOctaves employs a huge pool of experienced, qualified instrumental music teachers to teach children in an informative, productive manner, with the foremost emphasis being fun. In addition to instrumental music tuition, Minioctaves believes that a valuable part in a child’s musical education is being able to showcase their talent. It therefore provides many opportunities and platforms in addition, in the public arena to encourage and develop Northern Ireland's young musical talent and to keep our country alive with the culture and heritage of music.
